Belisle Humane Foot Snare Trap

The Belisle® Foot Snare operates very much like a traditional foothold, except the device, when activated, the jaws slip away leaving a cable to lasso the animal’s leg.

Like a foothold, the foot snare is behaviorally passive requiring the animal to step on the pan to activate the device.

Its similarity to the foothold may help trappers more easily adopt its use

While not widely used in the U.S., the Belisle has been certified by the Fur Institute of Canada for the fall 2007 season for the capture of lynx, coyote and bobcat.

This certification meets the humane requirements imposed by the Agreement on International Humane Trapping Standards (AIHTS).

We have 3 size options available, as well as extra snares to purchase.

- 6 Inch Belisle is made for medium sized animals such as coyote and fox.  Made of 7x19 3/32" cable.

- 8 Inch Belisle is made for wolves, mountain lion, and similar sized animals.

Made of 7x19 1/8" cable.

- The 12 Inch Belisle is made for Black Bear.  Made with 7x19 3/16" cable.

The Kit comes with instructions, spring, and one snare.  You can also purchase extra replacement snares separately.
